Don't get anything smaller than 42. I would go either 42...
Why would you say that? We have a 37" in the bedroom and it's great.
Also, how big is your bedroom?? 50" TV seems really big for a bedroom.
12x12. As you can tell... I like the "wow" effect. Plus my wife says its not as bad and gargantuan as you may think. When you watch it for a few hours... its very pleasnt on the eyes. Not too big like you are in a theatre. Remember in a bedroom... you are usually watching it at its farthest distance as possible (headboard to opposite wall).
As far as a smaller model goes... sure everyone will say its great.... until you see something larger. Thats just the way it is.
Hell... I don't even want to look at one of the 61" plasmas right now cause then i'll think mine are small.
But if you are happy that you got a 37" thats cool. I made the comment about the 42" strictly from a bang/buck standpoint. If you are buying a new TV now... it doesn't make any sense to go less than 42" because of the price. You can get 42" for $1500 now if you shop around. And I am talking HDTV too... not EDTV.

Oh... and if you have LCD... or prefer LCD... then 37" is a much more common size.
But for plasma... 42" and up is the way to go.

Re: has anyone had a plasma professionally installed?
Just my two cents.. my sister and BIL got one a few years back and the company they bought it from installed it, and she was VERY glad they did. They mounted it and it was supposed to be sturdy and strong, and about an hour after they mounted it, the thing fell off the wall!!!!!!! The kids usually play in that room, so we were all happy that they werent in there. The company was so embarassed and my sister was so P-O'd that they upgraded her warranty and gave her teh next model/size up... HTH! Good Luck!

Thats pretty crazy.
Its amazing that sometimes the "professional stores" hire total amateaurs.
Thats like buying a sweet car stereo system... and getting it installed by $6/hr circuit city people. You will probably get a better job done by someone that is a pro and ONLY does car stereos in their life.
