I'll admit I tried smoking because of peer pressure. Good thing it wasn't a habit I stuck with.

Re: Peer Pressure (sorta spinoff to drugs)

smoking but I think it was a combo of peer pressure and curiosity. If it was just 100% peer pressure I wouldn't have done it.

having sex for sure........in my HS it was a "race" to see who did it....so sad.

I was also involved in some "kissing contests" to put it lightly in the same HS.

IMO this was peer pressure. I did switch HSs after 2 years though (not because of the peer pressure though) and it was different in my new HS

Peer pressure never got the best of me! If anything, maybe I kissed someone bc everyone else was doing it...Nothing too horrible though

Re: Peer Pressure (sorta spinoff to drugs)

Oh...everything. I am so easily persuaded. Sex, smoking, drinking, kissing (and more), crazy stunts, lying, cheating on boyfriends and tests...pretty much, name it...BTDT.

Now I'm a big nerd and I have become much more assertive (thank God). I hope my children learn from the "new" me and hope peer pressure "the early years" isn't genetic!

Re: Peer Pressure (sorta spinoff to drugs)

I tried smoking at like 11 or 12... that was definitely peer pressure. I never truly enjoyed it so I never continued it regularly, though I went through a phase where if I was drinking at at bar, I'd have to have a cigarette in hand .. Chat Icon

But otherwise I never succumed to peer pressure

Drinking and smoking - I tried that stuff because I wanted to try it. Once you decided that you didn't want to do something, people in my high school kind of didn't care either way.

I did feel more pressure about hooking up and sex. I didn't fully give in but I certainly felt it.

Re: Peer Pressure (sorta spinoff to drugs)

I'm SURE there were things I did that were because of peer pressure. I'm pretty sure there's not one person who goes through life without succumbing to it at some point, however, I never did things like drugs or had sex or smoked or drank or anything like that because of peer pressure. If I did do those things, I did them because I wanted to, however, I don't think I really did those things, anyway as a teen.
