eta: and i was being SARCASTIC, hence why i used: Chat Icon Chat Icon

all i'm saying is that it would be ALOT easier to read certain posts, if a simple comma, period, or whatever have you, is used properly, that's all.

it's the little things in life that matter! Chat Icon

Re: Request for Ron

I think maybe people who do this dont realize they are doing it, and that their posts DONT get read or as many responses because they are TOO hard to read.

I know I will go right past one where its just a lumped up paragraph or a run on sentance because its too hard to waste my time on.

Re: Request for Ron

I really don't think the intention of this post is to put people down or "police" the boards, but it is really hard to read posts that are just one big run-on sentence. I too will admit that sometimes, when I see a long, unpunctuated post, I will click offChat Icon

Re: Request for Ron

I have to say, I am by no means perfect with my grammar... However, since I had to teach grammar daily and mark notebooks and tests on a weekly basis this past year in order to prepare my students for the writing test, there were times that I wanted to run screaming through a brick wall when I read some posts.

I also had to stop myself from from printing some out and littering them with editing marks.

I guess when you spend a week trying to teach a bunch of southern children that 'wash' is not spelled with an 'r' and that 'get' is not spelled 'git' your nerves wear a little thin Chat Icon

i was told it was just an opinion...

Re: Request for Ron

Pointing out a generally bothersome occurence is just that. Nobody is sitting here naming a list of people who do not punctuate correctly. . . . Calm down folks . . . .

LIF is a hippylove fest for the most part in comparison

I agree with you on this. I think people might type in a hurry and don't realize it but it does make it difficult to read. I don't think anyone meant any harm but pointing it out.

Just because it happened on LIW doesn't mean it should happen here...nor is it necessary.

I agree that if you don't like a post you should just not respond. This can apply for everything---whether you don't like someone's POV, content or topic, or their grammar.

It is not necessary. We all have flaws, why do we need someone to point it out. We come here for fun and support not to have someone point out our imperfections.

Re: Request for Ron

I just don't understand why everyone starts getting crazy over these things . . . . It's just something that is a petpeeve for many on the board. If you don't agree fine- but why get so upset?

ok let me rephrase then

THIS has been going on for some time on LIF

i once pointed it out and pretty much was told that it was THEIR opinoin

and since the post isn't pointing someone out directly...then it remains just an opinion

JUST like i posted the other day how i am getting sick of the celeb posts on the NFR board
