Re: Share your first holiday memory with SO
our first christmas dating, he went to his home state of MI to be with his family, i was misurable without him... but before he left, he made me a silver necklace with a tree carved out of it - it was beautiful, i could not believe he made it himself. he also baked cookies and gave me the number of cookies equal to the number of days he was gone... one a day until he returned. it was really cute.

Re: Share your first holiday memory with SO
Our first holiday memory would be St. Pat's 1996 when we met - I'm assuming you mean Christmas/Hannukah..
My first and best memory was Christmas Eve 1996. I told him I wanted a pearl necklace a few months before. After we went to his mom's for dinner, we were driving down Route 135 on the way to his house. The radio said "make sure you folks notice the full moon out tonight. It's going to be the only full moon on Christmas Eve for the next century." We started talking about gifts- and I said that a pearl necklace was a romantic gift because it shows that you think of your girlfriend as having some class. He said "A pearl necklace isn't romantic." I said "Maybe you don't know what romantic is..." He replied..."My idea of romance is driving down the highway looking at the only full moon I'll ever see on Christmas Eve in my lifetime with the girl I love." I was stunned and said "Ok you win that is romantic. You don't have to get me the necklace." I got that the next day but he was right the full moon was more romantic.
Three years later he proposed on Christmas Eve but it was more of a "it's about time" feeling.
