Re: The Horrible Question you dont want to think about.
No no no. It's happened in my family. There is NO way I would leave children around this man. He has ruined more lives than we will ever know in both my family and people surrounding my family.
Its a horrible thing. It tore my family apart.
I was told when I was about 5 yrs old that I should never ever be alone with this person. I was also told that I should tell my Mom if this person ever touched me or said or did anything to make me feel uncomfortable.
And this was reinforced upon me constantly. When my sister was born I was also told to never ever let her be alone with this person either.
I was told never let him tickle me or put me on his lap - I was told I should call (yell) for my Mom or Dad if anything ever happened.
I was never left alone with this man in any way shape or form and even though it seriously damaged my relationship with him but you know what, too bad, it was his fault. I'm thankful my parents told me what the deal was.
There were people in my family who never knew about the things that this man did - and because of that, they became his prey.
This man was in my life until he passed away this year - but he was not invited to my wedding and didn't know that I was married or even pregnant. He knew nothing about me. I liked it that way.

absolutely not - and this person wouldnt have to be invited to parties because he or she would be in jail

But do you know anyone? It just seems so prevalent - and I can't see including these people at a family gathering. I find it really disturbing.
Would you skip the party? Think about it, your close friend's uncle & she's holding her son's birthday party.
i would go to the party if only to watch this person so he doesnt mess with any of the children - i would be sure to e in his face constantly. maybe i would make him uncomfortable enough to leave.

I say no, but I've noticed that people around me who are in this situation, unfortunately have not made the same choices.

No way. And if I was at a party & they showed up. I would leave immediately!
