Unemployment question
If you need to change your hours from Full-time to Part-time and your job can not accommodate, because the positions is supposed to be full time, and as of a result you need to resign, are you eligable to collect unemployment?
Thank you!

Re: Unemployment question
I dont think so ..no.
In my previous job I worked nights. We had a family emergency /issue which meant I would have to change to days. I could not work nights. I even offered P/T nights. I was told come to work or not . I resigned and I was told by unemployment I was not eligable because I left on my own accord.
If there is a medical reason, they have to accomodate you with P/T under the law. If its not medical, unfortuantly they dont have to.

Re: Unemployment question
Probably not.....Usually if you resign or quit you are not eligible for benefits. In this case, it's totally up to your company if they would fight a claim. I would call the unemployment office and talk to HR to ask about your situation to be sure.

Re: Unemployment question
If your company lets you go you may. You may want to talk to HR about it. If you resign-you can't get benefits.
