I met him through a friend
I was 19 or 20 but didn't date him until I was 21.
I think we knocked on each other's doors...

DH was my co-worker. We turned out to be great friends, and we were promoted as managers together too.
I was 16 when I met him, never, in my wildest dreams did I think I would marry him. I dated others as did he.
He "knocked" on my door, New Years Eve 1995. I was still with my ex, but someone "woke me up" and I broke up with my ex a few months later.

I met DH online 2.5 years ago. I was 31 and I guess I would say that I "knocked" since I saw his profile and made the first move.

met the guy I am dating out at St.Patricks Day.. had NO desire to meet anyone- just having a good time with my best friend... also gave my number without the intention of going out with him... 8 months later...

my friend is going through this right now. She is weary of onling dating, she isnt interested at anyone at work.. we did meet nice guys out last week but she wasnt interested in the guy who was interested in her... so where is the opportunity?? good question!

I was 22 and met my DH at a bar the night before Thanksgiving 2000!

We were flirting all night but he was also getting tons of attention from all the other women in the bar (it was a small town bar, and everyone was home for Thanksgiving so it was kind of like a high school reunion, but I just moved to the area and had gone there with my best friend). He asked for my number, and I think it was the first time I ever met a guy in a bar and gave him the right number! He called the next morning and we went out the day after Thanksgiving...5 years ago this Thanksgiving!

I do think I had to go out to put myself out there. I had just graduated college, was working at a very demanding Wall Street job...I could have gotten so absorbed into my work I never would have made myself available. I was working nearly 12 hours a day, commuting from LI to the city, and I was going to start the MBA program at NYU part time. I would have had NO free time. I was still dating my BF from college when I met DH--the BF was in med school in Phila. and between my work schedule and his med school schedule we hadn't seen each other in mos...I knew it wouldn't work out but didn't make the effort to break up since we'd been together the 4 years of college and it seemed easier to just drift away than really break up (I did end it when I met DH). I could have been going about my day to day life and I never would have put myself out there.

Um, in a bar, when I was almost 22 and he practically fell into my lap. So I guess going out at night isn't the worst way to meet a man But then again, that was a fluke because I never used to go to bars.

How did you meet your mr. right? At the bowling alley. We were both in a bowling league and our teams bowled against eachother. Oh yeah, one of the guys on my team was my bf at the time

Did he 'knock" on your door? Even though we flirted a bit that night, I asked him for his number, despite my then bf being there. I just knew there was something about him.

His friend's fiance (a female) noticed me, picked me out and ran after me as I was leaving the beach. So technically- she "knocked" on my door

How did you meet your mr. right? We met when we were 15/16, we had mutual friends in HS. We were at the same parties and bumped into each other a lot. We gradually became closer over a period of about a year. It was one of those things where it's right under your nose and you don't realize it

Did he 'knock" on your door? I think it was just meant to be. We ran in the same circles and ended up together through a completely unpredictable chain of events. I almsot think if you're looking for it, you won't find it. When I fell in love with FH, I was dating someone else!

We met when we were both 24. I met him out at a bar (but technically we were there for a party of a mutual friend). And I actually was not going out till the last minute when a friend who started dating a friend of mine wanted some extra support. I let a friend that he knew too that i was interested and then he made the first move to say hi.

Knew by the third date that this was going to be a pretty serious relationship if not the one - and he was.

ETA - We actually found out after we were dating that we had been to the same parties/bars on other nights but never noticed one another. Weird!
