I would beg to be your friend....
OK I think it is a great idea. We got married at Raphael Vineyards, and my mom rented a house for the week for family to stay with us. It was wonderful, everyone loved it.

I think I would invite the friends I really wanted first, and I don't think I would include kids. That kind of ruins any nightlife/staying up late. Will the friends be chipping in for rooms?

Not rude to ask everyone to chip in for food and booze!
I wouldn't invite kids. I think you get first pick on the rooms after that first come first serve is fair

No, not at all! You could ask people to bring snacks and booze or whatever. I would invite first who you really want to come though--you don't want to be stuck with second-tier friends just because they responded first!

Nay on the kids
i would house everyone, first come first sever for the beds and couches- anyone else willing to crash on the floor can stay kind of thing.

DH and I were thinking of renting a house in the north fork region for my 30th birthday weekend in November. We were looking to rent a big house so we could invite everyone to stay over.
