WEll, you have to go through months and months of infertility and then you make the decision to do IVF.
IVF is very time consuming, you have to go into the doctor's office EVERY morning for bloodwork and sono while you are stimulating your ovaries, then you wait for a daily phone call, based upon your bloodwork, telling you how to tweek your injections. Then on the day you would ovulate they take you into an operating room and extract the eggs by drawing them out with a needle that goes through your vaginal wall and into the ovaries. Back three days later for the embryo transfer. Five days of bedrest after that.
It's not for the faint of heart.
These pics were taken via the microscope. The doctor looks at all of the embryos that fertilized... in my case 7 of my 8 eggs, decided which ones were the highest quality and implants them back in after they are fertilized in a lab and develop for three days on their own.
When he put them back in me he must check the cathedar again under the microscope to make sure they have left the cathedar.
We all start out this way... my beans just had to start in a lab.

That is absolutely amazing!!!! Do they know the sexes of the babies yet? A friend of mine did IVF (at least I think it was) and they knew right away it was a boy!!!
