Spinoff to vacation time...
if you get 3 or more weeks off for vacation, how long have you been at your company?
just curious.

We start with 21 PTO days and then after you've been at the company for 3 years, they bump you to 28 days.

I get 22 vacation days - and its that way from the start for new employees (minus the 3 months of probation time when you can't take a vacation day).

4 weeks.

My DH started his job with 3 weeks and he's interviewing with a company now that starts at 2 weeks with the option to buy a 3rd. After a year they get 3 weeks. At my old job you didn't get 3 weeks until being there for 5 years.

I think at my company you have to be hear 5 years to get the 3 week vaca time.

As an non-exempt employee when you start you get two weeks accrued. At the 3 year point you get 3 weeks.
Exempt and officers have a different scale. So if you are an associate you start with 3 weeks. If you are an officer you start with 4 weeks.
This is at a big fat investment bank. Smaller companies tend to give more vacation I think.

I got 1 week my first year, then 3 weeks as of my 1 year anniversary & 4 weeks as of my 5 year anniversary. As of next month I will have been here 8 years.
Sad thing though is that this year ( from July to July) I will have taken only 10 out of my 20 days.
