I am so sorry about your Uncle. How truly sad. Personally it would depend on the relationship I had with my Uncle. I could not host a big party if I was truly sad. That is just me. I would probably postpone. But if your family is telling you not to, then keep the party. What has your mom said?

I'm so sorry for your loss .
You have to go with what you feel in your heart. Personally, I would postpone (but that's me). I recently had a close uncle pass away and I couldn't function very well .
