30th Birthday Poll: Would you rather have a big bash to celebrate, or a "big" gift instead?
I've been asked this a few times from my family, and I was wondering what you guys thought. My 30th is on December 13th, so I have time to decide  lol...
If you had the choice to pick something as a "big" gift, what would it be?
ETA - PS - Sorry if this sounds superficial, because I'm definitely not. I wouldn't want any harassing FMs or anything. lol...

I voted for big party, because I love spending time with friends and family more than any material things. It's just my way, I love entertaining and just spending time with others.

I was going through the same option for my 35 ... Big party or big gift..
I am opting for a nice gift which will be a tennis bracelet
I told my husband that we will go out to dinner with a couple of friends and he can give me a party for my 40th

Gift- JEWELRY!!!!!! It is everlasting, a vacation doesn't last and the party ends, a beutiful piece of jewelry you can have forever!!!

DH's 30th is Dec 23rd and he wanted to go on vacation just with me over a party or big gift!

i have to say i agree
a great vacation can touch your soul....
jewelry is nice but doesn't make me as happy as say a vaca to Greece

Being that you are talking about a 30th b-day I would so love a BIG trip over a party. Now if you were reffering to a wedding I would take a party over the gift.

It depends on who is planning. If my mom was planning I would LOVE a party. If it was DH planning, a gift is better.
DH tried to plan a 30th for me this year and he forgot so many people and others were away. It ended up being about 6 people

I'd say GIFT!!!
Party's IMO are for kids or when you're like 80.
Most of my friends and I all turned 30 at the same time. Why have a party for 1?
All our husbands bought us a day at the spa. All the "30" girls went together and had such an AWESOME day!!! That was the best gift ever!!!

when I turned 30my family threw me a surprise party...while I appreciated it greatly I really would have rather not had one..i am not one for the center of attention thing...and 30 was a really hard time for me personally and I did not feel much like celebrating.. so I guess I would have rathered just a gift..
