for first time moms ...
how long do you plan on waiting after having your first to try and have your second ?? (if you are planning on having more)
i kinda want my kids all close together in age, so maybe when our  turns one, we'll try again.
what do you all think?

I cannot decide now. I have to see how things go with the first but we have a small apartment and cannot afford a house so it looks like it may just be one for us.

HAHAHAHA I thought the same thing! I wanted them close together...until one came ago and I realized how much work one little could really be.... well 4 years later now I am ready for a second! 
 But its soooo worth it!

i'm with your dh! we have been going back and forth about how many kids to actually have, we came to an agreement but i told him that may change unless he gives me a !!

DH and I always said we would have 2 and we want them close in age...like when our first is 1, we will try for our second.
But, we talked this weekend and if pregnancy continues to be this difficult for me, we will only have one child. I know all pregnancies are different, but I don't think I could go through this again. Maybe I am just being over-dramatic

I would love to plan #2 within months of #1's birth, but I am concerned because breastfeeding is super important to me, and I want both babies not to lack in anything. So I am in a question of nursing one and carrying another.

we don't have a plan yet. I guess we'll wait and see how it goes with #1 first. In my head, I picture them 2-3 years apart - we'll see...

I thought two years apart would be good and that is exactly what we are getting. I am pregnant with #2 due Oct 28, Jack was born 10-19...so they could be two years to the day if I go early.
For me, I wanted to have them close together while I was still in the baby trenches and before it got too easy with just one.

We are going to wait til this one is 2 to start trying again, that is the plan right now.
DH is going for his 2nd masters and having 2 while in school, let alone one, would be too much.

I'm only having this one. DH has a daughter from a previous marriage...she is almost 10 and she lives with us. DH is also 10 years older than me...so for us, this is it. I'm ok with it because I'm not sure I would want more than 2 anyway.

Since I am giving up my career to be a stay at home mom, we are going to try for another one as soon as the Dr gives us the green light. I was a first year teacher this year, and I don't see the point of going back in a year or so, only to take another year off especially if I am not tenured. So for now I am retired, bang out two or so, and when the youngest is 2 or 3 I will go back to work.

I always wanted my children 2 years apart, and I am getting just that, maybe to the day. However, as the time comes closer, I am terrified of having 2, so if I ever have another, they'll be 3+ years apart!

We wanted them close in age, they'll be 16 months. We wanted closer to 2 years, but got pregnant a lot faster than we thought we would.
We're still debating a 3rd, if we do I think we'll try to have a little more space (2-2.5 years) between them.
