Re: Ideal Town
I have three--Rockville Centre, Garden City & Sayville. I am happy to say we recently bought a house in sayville yet it isn't my dream home--hopefully I can make it that way

Re: Ideal Town
For us it would be Southold on the water or maybe Sagaponic....because if money were no object I'd love historic farm house or a true hamptons estate.

Old Westbury.
I live across the street, my backyard touches Jericho turnpike( right near Westbury Manor) and every time I look out my backyard I see a mansion across the street!!!

Re: Ideal Town
We love where we are right now and couldn't ask for more. It would be nice though to have to not trailer our boat and have the water right in our back yard. Something we will be discussing seriously over the next few years.

Cold Spring Harbor...
Me too :) Or maybe Manhasset in one of those HUGE houses on Shelter Rock Road. Or Graden City, RVC...There would be so many choices if budget wasn't an issue!!

Re: Ideal Town
I love the town and location of our house now. I have my eye on one specific house around the corner from us and if it ever came up for sale, we'd be there...

North of 25a in Western Suffolk - Eastern Nassau - I would love a home on the water in Lloyd's Neck, Halesite, Cold Spring Harbor, Huntingtion Bay, or Centerport...I'm not picky - any of those towns will do.
Exactly my choices. I grew up there, so I guess I'm biased.
DH and I also talk about Bridgehampton, but that would only be if he works from home FT

Re: Ideal Town
well I grew up in Locust Valley, and it is really nice. If DH and I were moving back to LI I think I would like Mill Neck. But those homes are 3-5 mill +. So it is not realistic at all.

Re: Ideal Town
I am moving to my dream town - Manhasset! However, the only prob is that most of my family lives in suffolk. It would be nicer to live closer to them, in which case my dream town would be Cold Spring Harbor, but unfortunately we work in the city and the commute coupled with our hours is just too long!
