I have always worn black skirt suits to job interviews. Some places black pant suits..I don't think I've ever worn navy.

same with me- Navy brings up a shoe issue for me-

I just went to an expo and wore a beatuiful tan suit- and I got alot of attention in a sea of black- I had people chasing me

but I did that on purpose- for that reason

In college I had to do a presentation on the whole "job interview" process, and all of my research stated that males and females should wear gray suits.
I don't remember why, but I am sure it has something to do with neutrality......

I personally prefer black pant suits. I feel more confident in them. Both of the black suits that I have are not solid but rather have a pattern/design like a fine red pinstrip. I don't think that skirt or pant makes a difference as long as you have one on and you are comfortable. Chat Icon You have to be careful with both - skirts have to be the right length - not too short and not too long. Pants have to fall just right at the shoe because high waters are not professional and no one should be tripping over their pants.

I'd say Navy and then Black.
As far as for women to wear skirts or a pant suit...I think a woman should wear a suit(either pants or skirts) that she feels confident and comfortable and look professional.

I used to hear navy but I think fashion has changed. I think navy and gray are more conservative than black but all look nice. Black was considered formalwear for a long time.
As far as skirt or pants, go with comfort and weather.
