Do you talk on the phone alot?

(figured I'd make this a valid post!)

Right now we are screening our calls for obvious reasons but even normally, DH HATES talking on the phone... so much so that he hates it when I'm on the phone for a long time!

Anyway, he tends to avoid picking up the phone as much as possible -- cell phone, house phone, whatever. I always feel obligated to answer even if I don't feel like talking to whoever it is. It's almost always family that this applies to. Sometimes I feel like if I took every call that came in I'd be on the phone 12 hrs per day!!

How are you with the phone? Do you always answer even if you don't feel like talking? Do you blow people off quickly or just not answer? Wait for the message and call them back when you feel like it?

I screen my calls and let the machine get it most of the time, unless DH is home, then he will answer (and I tell him to say Im in the shower or sleeping). I HATE the phone!

I like talking on the phone, but not when I am busy...because I can be on the phone for hours. Depending on what I am doing at that moment determines if I answer it.

I LOATHE talking on the phone. I actually think I may have some sort of social disorder with the phone it's that bad.

No...I am so not a phone person! I'm bad with voice mails too, a week goes by and I will refuse to listen to voice mails.

I screen the calls and if I don't want to talk I will let the machine pick up. I'm not really a phone person.

I hate the phone. When I get home from work the last thing I want to do is listen to someone, I have too much to do at night.

I too HATE the phone.....I dont mind if its a short call but I hate when people call and they say whats up or they are doing something else like say.....having another conversation! I try to avoid the phone when possible. Thank God for caller ID!

Depends on who is calling but usually i LOVE chattin.

I REFUSE to answer the phone when it rings!

DH is ALWAYS the one who answers the phone. If and when I answer the phone, the person on the other end is SHOCKED!

I have a cell phone, not many people call it, but I usually have DH answer that too, when he's around!

Before DH & I lived together we talked on the phone a lot. And when my mom still lived in my neighborhood, we'd call eachother about every little thing even if we were only on the phone for two seconds.

I feel like I haven't been a huge phone talker with my friends since high school!

i hate the phone myself. i hate it when someone calls to say hi, whats up and i saying nothing and they nothing?? and the convo goes no where!

I think I used the phone TOO much when I was a teenager and used up all my phone conversation energy back then.

It has gotten so bad at times where I just don't answer the phone all day... I sometimes don't even bother to look at the caller Id B/C I dont really care who it is.. I am not picking up!!!

I fight with my mom, sister, dad, etc b/c they always think I am mad at them b/c I ignore there calls and I am REALLY bad about calling people back

I dont like the phone either. When I was younger, you couldnt get me off of it. But now I would rather im, email or send text messages. I know its really impersonal but it seems like whenever I talk on the phone either my dogs start barking like crazy, the doorbell rings, my dh has to use it or my cordless is dead which makes it impossible for me to just sit down and have a conversation.

I love caller ID so I do nt answer the phone when certain people call

Before the baby, I didn't mind talking on the phone. But now, if I have a free minute the last thing I want to do is spend it on the phone. We always look at the caller ID before we pick up.

For example, my FIL calls everyday to check on us and see if we need anything while DH is at work. Although I know he means well, I just get annoyed when the phone rings.

It funny when I don't answer the house phone and then 10 seconds later my cell phone rings. When I don't pick that up DH's cell phone will ring next.

I dont like the phone much...could be because I talk on it for 8 hours a day, but I have one or two friends, and my mom..I talk to them a lot, but I try to avoid other calls..

I hate talking on the phone. I screen my calls at home and work and call back only IF I have to and when I am ready to talk.

I hate the phone. I really do. I have to be on the phone often for my job so when I get home the last thing I want to do is get on the phone. E mail is the best way to get me.

it really depends on my mood...

I'm on the phone all day at work too, so the last thing i want to do when i get home is start making phone calls, BUT once i do get on the phone, i can talk for hours

I HATE the phone.....not too many people call us, so we screen with the caller ID.

I use my caller ID to screen calls and pick who I feel like talking to.
