Hi Girls, We're Back!
Hi Girls!
I'm home, and I'm a Mommy!
(Thanks Donna for passing on the news of  birth!  )
Here is my birth story (I'll try to keep it short) and here are some pics
On Thursday the 27th they admitted me to the hospital to give me Cervadil to start helping my cervix along a little more, so that they could induce me the next day. My doctor told me only 1% of women go in to full blown labor with the Cervadil so I didn't have to worry and DH went home for the night and I stayed at the hospital to be monitored.
Well, meet one of the 1% of women who went in to full blown labor from Cervadil  and fast forward to 3am when I called DH at home and begged him to come back. At this point I had been in labor for almost 10 hours and my contractions were fast and painful. They got to be 2-3 mins apart and so painful I was yelling "GOD MAKE IT STOP!" and "Something is wrong, this hurts too much" LOL Poor nurses who had to deal with me.
I dialated from 3cm to 7cm in just 2 hours and then dialated to 10cm in another hour and a half. By the grace of GOD they gave me my epi at 7cm and I finally had relief. Once I got to 10cm and the baby dropped and I was ready to push, I had already been in labor for about 15 hours. I was exhausted.
I pushed for about an hour and my doctor said I was doing great. Then all of a sudden, the baby went in to distress and her heart rate increased. The doctor told DH that as long as her heartbeat was below 200 it was OK.
Next thing you know, it's 206 beats per minute, she is in distress and my blood pressure is through the roof and I have a fever.
They had to perform an emergency c-section on me to make sure was OK.
Was born at 3:15 p.m. on Friday, April 28th, 2006 via c-section and was healthy and came out screaming  She was 6 olbs 15 ozs and 21 " long (so much for the HUGE baby they told me I was having)
I had a fever of 102 so was put on IV antibiotics and was put in a special part of the nursery bc she had to be on IV too for 48 hours.
FINALLY on Monday they let me take little to my room for the day and I got to bond with her. I am so in love. DH is so in love. I can't believe how much I love her. I never ever in my life thought I could love someone this much.
OK, enough talk....here are some pictures of my little Kaitlyn Marie, who we call Katie ...and who I have started calling my little Katie-bug (like my little lady-bug )
I'm really wiped out and in quite a bit of pain so I wont be online too too much for a couple of days. I need to get settled and get some rest. Image Attachment(s):
