She is beyond calming down. Rationale has left the building. Whether or not you disagree with a topic, you MUST be reasonable and listen to the other side or you bet your a$$ they won't listen to you! Chat Icon

Precisely. It makes her look like she is ranting, not educating. Tirades are pretty ineffective.

What makes this bad for anyone who shares her view is that for those who do not it makes it easy to *pigeonhole* a young conservative (as someone referred to her earlier). Not that I think that anyone should be *guilty by association* but I think she has to realize that her position on the show makes her almost a spokesperson for her demographic, in a way., especially to those that are on the opposing side. I think her actions discredit others, like-minded, and she should be more careful how she presents herself, her views, and her debating skills.

And she responded to Barbara's words like a petulant child as well.

Re: Did anyone watch the View this morning?

The point of The View is to have different women with different views. I think it's good that there is someone conservative on there, because the whole country does not think the same way. Most of my family is pretty conservative (i'm pretty middle of the road), and they complain that the View is too one-sided b/c there is no one conservative enough on there.

i agree.
And I also think they need to find a mature conservative female to represent those views!

Agreed. I can't watch the clip at work, and I don't watch the view regularly lately, b/c I'm not home, but it sounds like Elizabeth is pretty immature.

She better watch what she says. I remember another morning talk show host that always bragged about her marriage and then her much older husband was caught with a hookerChat Icon ... Kathy Lee.

he husband is in the NFL- I am sure he looks if not more when he is on the road

wow Elisabeth is a spoiled brat. She was so rude to BW, she should be the next one booted. when you raise your voice people do not listen, and she needs to learn to discuss things like an adult.

Oh, I'm surrrrrrrrre he's not looking at the cheerleadersChat Icon

It's not her message, it's her immaturity and her attempt to steam roll everyone.

I noticed that when they were interviewing Sally Field , Elizabeth was not in her usual position all the way on the right. She was sitting next to BarbaraChat Icon
I had to laugh... it's like my Dad who made my brother sit next to him at church so he would behaveChat Icon

ETA: You would think, considering recent events, she would have learned that you DON'T bite the hand of Barbara Walters. She created her career and probably could ruin it to.

Sheesh... I just saw the clip- and its not the first time she went off on a tirade.

I only recently starting watching the View (since its original days) and I have to say, she really doesn't know how to express her opinions with composure. She gets hysterical and doesn't let anyone else talk and acts very immature.

But I do think her job is safe, at least for now. With Meredith and Star gone, they are trying to keep the show as "normal" as possible.

I just wish they would bring Lisa Ling back!

I'm going to be 36 tomorrow and WHEW, am I ever glad I am out of the bracket she represents.

I think it is great to be passionate about something that means a lot to you but previousposters are right. she will not have the respect of people in her peer group (or any other for that matter) if she carries on in an immature fashion.

Re: Did anyone watch the View this morning?

I do think that it is good to have people of differing opinions, but they need to find someone who can actually articulate a point or message. Elisabeth lets her mouth run and sounds whiny making me think that she doesn't really know what she is talking about most of the time. They need to have someone representing the conservative side, but they should find someone new IMO.

Re: Did anyone watch the View this morning?

Wow. She totally acted like a child. She seemed so annoyed by Barbara's comments. It's great to be passionate about something, but Elizabeth should really learn how to have a calm rational discussion.

Re: Did anyone watch the View this morning?

I never watch the view but happened to catch it this morning and couldnt believe how that Elisabeth person was ranting on and on. . . comparing plan b to having a baby and leaving it on the street is way too extreme a view for me.

She also made a bizarre leap in her reasoning when she said something like

"you people (liberals) are all saying that you dont want the government telling you what to do, keep your hands off my body, blah blah blah. . . then why are you for universal healthcare?"

and she seemed to think that she was making a very good point - though her argument didnt make any sense. Being prochoice and wanting health coverage for everyone are two very different things.

. . .and she really needs to lay off the spray tan or the tanning beds - she looks a little orange to me.
