I did the amnio test yesterday and it went fine. It didn't hurt, just the needle going in was uncomfortable but it was so quick. I only got nervous yesterday because DH was with me in the room for the sonogram but then they had him leave when they were ready to do the amnio so I started crying a little cuz I wanted him there. He's been my rock through this whole thing.
We told my MIL last night about the baby, she was very excited but we also told her about the test that we had done and she said not to worry or get stressed out. It's just so hard to do.
We opted for the 48 hour results and for the 10 days. Doctor said she can do both. We won't have any results before christmas unfortunately but the earliest is Tuesday. The 48 hour results we were told are pretty accurate but the doctor prefers the 10 day just to be double accurate. She feels that way because we are dealing with things that have to grow and would not want to rush anything. So we have nothing left but faith and hope and DH is being positive and wants to go ahead and tell the rest of his family on christmas eve.
I will keep you posted the minute I get the first results back. I want to thank you all for your continued support.

DH told me last night that he hasn't even finished christmas shopping for me but I told him that the only thing I want is a healthy baby and for him to keep supporting me the way he has...

That was such an incredibly sweet thing to say and I thank you so much sweetie! I'm teary eyed over it. I just showed DH what you wrote and he just said how nice it was of you to say that.
We went to christmas mass yesterday and lit a candle for Matthew Thomas before the mass started and after the mass the strangest thing happened.
After the mass the priests stand in the back shaking hands with the people and when DH and I got to one of the priests, which was the one that married us two years ago and is also the monsignor, he blessed our foreheads with the sign of the cross after we shook his hand and wished him a Merry Christmas. We didn't see him do that to anyone else. It's as if he felt we needed that blessing.
I am getting more anxious now cuz tomorrow we are supposed to be our preliminary results back.

I just called the Doctor's office and no results have come in yet. They also said that with the Holidays and all things have probably gotten backed up. I told the nurse who answered the phone that the doctor said the earliest would be Tuesday for the preliminary results, now this one is telling me 10 days! that means next week! How am I going to survive another holiday weekend with this knot in my stomach. They said to call back at 3 p.m. to see if any results came in. Actually they said they would call me but I know i'll be calling them...
How much more agony do I have to be in???

I'm sorry to hear that weren't in yet. My SIL had to wait 10 days too for her amnio results but still got the preliminary results in a few days.

The preliminary results came out normal so far. I did a new post about it...
