I completely prefer fake b/c they are LOW maintenance. DH wants a real one this year. I think we will as long as he realizes HE is cleaning it up. I also don't particularly care for the smell of a real tree either...so the authentic-ness is lost on me.

We used to have fake but this year since we have tile floors and live on the ground floor we are getting a real tree.

growing up my dad would only allow fake trees because he was always afraid of fires. But the last few years he was alive my mom insisted on having a real tree and he loved it so we are addicted now and only get real ones they smell so good and my cat hates the smell and stays away

real we go out east and cut ours down we do it as a family outing.

Real tree - love the smell - love going to pick it out - It isnt christmas for me if it isnt a real tree.
and we live in an apt so there is no way we'd be able to store a fake tree.

We're doing fake in the apartment b/c it's easier and more affordable for us.
Once we get a house, we'll do the real tree, b/c I love the smell of pine.

REAL. will never ever ever get a fake tree. i can tolerate vacuming for a few weeks just for the smell
Same here!
Plus I have to battle the cats to keep out of it too!
