I know Michelle, you are probably right. I should have been more insistent with him prescribing it instead of the clomid. Ugghhh...this is getting so frustrating.

I started femara last cycle, stopped due to a cyst. But even one pi,ll had me have a 23 MM follie. I will be back on this cycle if AF shows...

Re: A new update thread

Started my follistim last night, Dh gave me one shot and I gave myself one this morning. I think he's too nervous so for now I'm just going to do them myself. I go back Friday morning for b/w and u/s

You gals with insurance coverage are lucky - the follistim is costing about $569 a cartridge (lasts me 2 days!)

Baby dust to all of you!!!

Re: A new update thread

I agree, about being lucky to have the insurance pay for these treatments. Do you know that in NJ it's a law to cover infertility treatment ??

I work or maybe I worked for the NYC doe...not sure what my status is :) Right now I am on a leave and getting 'sloac", which is a continuation of my coverage, however, soon I will be paying for cobra, which is a lot less money than all these treatments !!! I really wish NY would pass the same law NJ did !!!!

Re: A new update thread

Yeah, Massachusetts has that law too. My friend did 9 IVF's and did not have to pay a thing!

Right now my scrip is only for 5 cartridges but like you I do 450 a day. I'm finding the rest of the meds I'll need isn't as expensive, thankfully!!!
I hope our accountant can do something with all of these expenses

Re: A new update thread

NY Does have an infertility Mandate( I work for health insurance) It only covers though Artificial insemination, and it makes money available in the grants we have hear dof for IVF. But those grants fill up FAST. And yes, NJ's is MUCH better. Im jealous!

Re: A new update thread

I've got an update - I'm pregnant!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Some of you may have seen my pre-vacation freak out. Turns out my HcG was 5.3 the day before I left and they thought that was too low to be a viable pregnancy. The sono that day also showed I was about to O. (I was on CD 63 at that point, and there was no prior indication of having O-ed)

I took HPTs and OPKs in Aruba and they showed BFN, but surging. I got the first BFP on the 4th. Went to the Dr on the 5th and my HcG was 83. They had me come back on Friday because they were concerned that the 83 should have been higher going off the 5.3.

So on Friday, my # was 302 and my progesterone looks great!! I have a sono scheduled for Monday - hopefully that will help determine when I conceived and my due date. With my cycles so irregular its hard to pin down. *I* think I conceived in Aruba, which would put me at about 5 weeks.

Now the funny thing is, I had started seeing a RE in Sept because of my irregularity, and I got preggo before she even got a chance to treat me! I'm SO glad I didn't take the provera she prescribed a few weeks ago (I had figured it was so late into my cycle already that AF should come on her own anyway and I didn't need the provera...little did I know Chat Icon

Lisa Congratulations!!!!!!!!

We had a very productive week, I went for my blood test on Saturday, they took 8 viles of blood and I have a big bruise on my arm to prove it. Don went for his SA yesterday. We will get the results in about a week.
