Re: When you are ready to start a family, will you be able to stay home?
My DW will be going back part-time. It'll help with the bill and give her a chance to get out of the house now and then. While she's working our parents are going to watch the kids. In a way, it's the best of both worlds since it'll allow the kids to be closer with them.

That's the plan, but we'll see how much our monthly expenses are after we move in the new house...

I will most likely be going back to work. We are going to see if we can swing it, but since FH is a teacher, I don't think that will happen, unless we hit lotto.

Re: When you are ready to start a family, will you be able to stay home?
not if we stay on Long Island! We also make around the same, so there would be no way we could get by on just one salary, and honestly, as much as I'd love to stay home once we have kids, I really need to be doing something to earn money or else I freak out about finances. We'll both have to work unless we win the lottery in the meantime!
ETA - we're also hoping by that time we're ready to have babies that Craig's parents will be retired and can help us out when we're at work

Re: When you are ready to start a family, will you be able to stay home?
I have been very fortunate to be able to stay at home. I enjoy every minute with Andrew, as crazy as it can be sometimes. But I also decided I wanted to keep current in my field of work (engineering), so I accepted my company's offer to work Pt. That basically amounts to 1 day a week in the office, some time working from home and a few bucks at the end of the week

Re: When you are ready to start a family, will you be able to stay home?
I actually began my job as a SAHM (even though the baby is not here yet!) this Monday. I stopped teaching and will not go back for a while. I know that I will probably get a p/t job working from home or tutoring to bring in some extra cash.
