It was really sad, I feel for him. Probably for the first time in the shows history (with the exeption of Howard announcing his divorce), I didn't hear many laughs. The mood was so serious, you could tell how concerned they were.
It was so sincere as well, when Howard was telling him he has to find joy in other things life kids and reading. Howard just wants KC to experience the other things life offers.
I was semi-shocked when I heard those things come out of Howard's mouth. He always had this tougher than nails exterior image,(with a frail interior) it is amazing how much HE has matured. I think Howard, in recent years, is a much more content person.

Howard seemed so disturbed that KC was drinking. And then Howard said yeah Artie said the same thing, that he was just drinking. Which leads us to believe that Artie must have been pretty messed up 3 weeks ago. Poor KC wanted his job back so bad, that I think that is why he was fustrated, then when he told Tom to drop dead, you know at that point KC must have been biting his tongue.
I was thinking the same thing re: Artie.. I think that situation was far far more serious than they let on
And yeah, I think that KC's biggest issue was the fact he really thought he'd get re-hired again... but after what went down , esp. today, I doubt that'll ever happen.
Honestly KC is an addict of all kinds, there is NO way he should be casually drinking.. its an addiction, he cannot have a few beers on the weekend , it makes no sense!
I totally respect Howard and the gang though for never revealing anything about what went down w/KC ... he waited until KC himself wanted to talk about it

Oh yes, I totally agree - I actually got a little teary when Howard was saying that stuff to KC about finding the joy in the simpler things in life.. and its sooo true ...
And YES , Howard has really matured himself as well... so true Kathleen. Say what you will about him, but he is generous (sometimes to a fault) he is so very loyal to his friends and staff... and at his core a good soul. He DOES seem to have found some inner peace himself!

Unfortunately I don't see good things for KC down the line...I think things may end badly for him....and that call this morning was just so disturbing and sad.
The way he was laughing when talking about how he cut himself over a bible was just eerie
