not to offend but i like the old rug better. the new rug is too vibrant w/ your deep wine wall color. what about also updating the panels? maybe something w/ more of a design. you could always add sheers under the panels to bring in more light. can't really see the treatment on the right window but i would add an interesting shaped valance that matches the fabric of the panels. some artwork, new chandelier shades and the room is complete.

The chandellier is 1 year old and we love it - The rug is the same rug that was in there in the first picture.
We love the microfiber panels on the sliders very much, and we usally have them tied back on each side of the door.
As for art work, we dont have many walls in that room to put things up in.
We had a huge painting on the right with two sconces before we bought the china cabinet and now that is in storage with the rest of the paintings.
The small window still has the paper shades from lowes. We are going to order roman shades for those windows, but we just havent gotten around to it with everything else that we have done to the house lately

i like the chandelier as well. just suggesting new shades to bring out the warm inviting colors of the room.

oh ok...I got you. We were thinking about getting different shades for the chandellier - just nothing has gotten our attention yet. We have to go to lowes to gett new bronze knobs for our cabinets in the kitchen, so hopefully we will see something that catches our eye.

Thanks - but that picture is so old...It looks different now.
We have a china cabinet on the right side of the table and on the left side of the table is the credenza....

I agree as well. The reds clash - a rug that in the beige family with wine & perhaps green accents would tie everything together nicely without overpowering or clashing.

I love the velvety merlot color. It's whatt we are during in our dining room too! trying to pick an accent color for it though.
