MIL doing your taxes
My MIL is an accountant and has always done DH's taces. She offered to do ours this year, and of course she always does them for free. Would you feel weird having your MIL know all about your finances? I appreciate that she is willing and of course that it would be free but a part of me feels like I want some privacy.

Thanks ladies, just wanted to make sure I wasn't nuts. I told DH and he said we would do whatever I wanted but he didn't think it was weird to have his mom do them. I wouldn't care if my mom did either but I think it is different with an IL and he understood.

My dad does our taxes...I never thought twice about it. Yes it's MY dad but he's been doing DH's taxes since we started dating and DH never had an issue with it. In fact, DH was paying before my dad started doing his taxes and now he gets a refund because of my dad's advice (before we got married at least).

It would depend on your relationship wtih your MIL. I am very open about my finances with my MIL and my mom, so it wouldn't bother me. Its great that your DH is so respectful.

I wouldn't want my parents or DHs parents doing our taxes. Because I know my parents and they'll all sit around and discuss how much we make and why do we spend our money the way we do, yada, yada, yada. Just something I don't want to do.

I wouldn't want ANYONE that I'm RELATED to or FRIENDS with to do my taxes. It's a sticky situation and wouldn't want them to know that personal info. But that's just me.

I wouldn't have any of my MILs "contacts" do my taxes...
Gosh, one of DH's aunts already blabbed to the whole family how much we paid for our condo and how much it's worth now. And, that was just based on info she found on the internet...
