getting a little freaked out...pic included

I noticed what looked like I little rash on Ryans face Sunday.... I figured it was just some irritation in the skin... but stayed home from work Monday to keep a closer look on it...

Monday morning it was gone... however little pimples started popping up in different places...

There very faint, and not raised....just light red small spots.... only on his face/ neck....

Well today I went to work and find out chicken pox is going around the building... Ryan is not enrolled in the school...but does get dropped off in the building 2x's/week...

They're no where else on his body (and I know pox usually start on the tummy) but I cant help but wonder whats going on...

I havent used different soap...the only thing I can think of is the drool on bib/shirt irritating his skin... but some places....I just cant figure out how the bib/shirt would get...

Attached are some pics.... the best I could get....

what do you think... baby pimples, baby rash....or bring him to the ped. and check for pox?

i would get him checked, my motto is "better safe then sorry". it dosent look like chicken pox to me, but you can never be too sure. is he trying to scratch them?? how old is he?? he has not had the chickenpox vaccine yet, correct?

I would have him checked too. It could just be baby acne or prickly heat rash or something else you don't have to worry about. But just to be safe, I would bring him to the dr.

(also if you want to take a close up like that, set your digital camera on it's macro setting...there should be a little tulip looking icon somewhere on your camera, that's the macro setting Chat Icon )

I hope the baby is OK, I'm sure he is!

I would take him to the doctor asap! Just to be sure, I dont think its chicken poxs because that usually starts somewhere warm like the belly or under the arm. Its probably just a little irritation from something....Chat Icon

If it were me, I probably wouldn't worry too much. Hayley has these lovely eczama patches on her cheek, neck, eyebrow and forehead and arm. No matter how much Cetaphyl lotion I put on them, it doesn't help.

Both of my kids got "baby acne" when they were about 4 months old. It just went away.

Re: getting a little freaked out...pic included

Cassidy had a similar reaction a few weeks ago. Her Dr seemed to think it was from blue dye, that was in motrin (it was the first time she'd had anything with blue dye)
Has Ry tried ANYTHING new within the past day or 2??

ETA: I just remembered I had taken pics tooChat Icon Now that I look at the 2 pics though, I think they look alittle different

Aidan also had eczema patches that looked similiar to this. Sometimes larger, sometimes just small patches.

I took him to the dr a few weeks a to follow up on an ear infection, it was all cleared up so I pointed out his exceptionally "rosy" cheeks that he happened to have that day and asked if it was ok just chapped. The dr said she thought it was Fifth Disease!
Well the next day it was gone, and I have since figured out that he was getting this "rash" whenever I used Burts Baby Bee Lotion on him. I cannot figure out what might be causing the reaction - could be the vitamin e....
babies skin is so sensitive and what might be fine one day, will wreak havoc the next!

Hope Ryan is ok tomorrow! Chat Icon
