Our baby boy is FINALLY here!!!!
LOGAN MICHAEL (just decided yesterday:) was born on Monday August 29 (Our dating AND wedding anniversary) at 7:54pm weighing in a 6lbs. 11oz and 20in long. He is so perfect and I couldn't have asked for more!!
Thank you all so much for your well wishes, I just loved reading them when we got home yesterday
SOOOO, here's my story. As many of you know, I had my Dr apt on Monday and was 100% effaced (for 3 weeks), and found out I was 4cm dialated. She suggested I head on over to the hospital to have my baby. I went home, got my things and waited for DH to get home. He rushed home and was ready to leave and of course I dilly dallied around because I was scared and didn't want to leave   . The Dr ended up calling wondering where I was and we had to leave .
We got to the hospital at 4:30 and they prepped me with IV and blood test(which for my fellow chickens, I was a champ!!). Soon after I was checked and found that I was 5cm and contracting every 2-3 minutes (STILL didn't know it). A little while later my water was broken......within a few minutes I started feeling contractions and they got worse and worse. She checked again and I was 6cm. and I KNEW I wanted the epidural. I had to wait a little b/c they wanted to get more fluids into me. Eventually I got the epidural (which was sooooooooooooooo not bad!! It was a pinch and slight burning - like at the dentist. I then felt a little bit of shocks in my leg (which he said I would feel) but not painful at all. I ended up getting the shakes pretty bad from the epidural (and they said the transition stage) but in a weird way I liked it.....when I wasn't shaking I didn't feel right. I got the epidural at 6:30 and about 25 minutes or so I was checked again and found I was 10 cm ...my exact words were - Are you friggin kidding me?- She said she wanted to wait a little for the epidural to start to wear off so I could feel to push. She said when I REALLY had the feeling like I had to "go" and had to push, I would begin pushing. About 1/2 hour or so later it got pretty bad and my lower back (where he was) was killing me so I started pushing. The bad part was that now I felt a lot! After a few contractions of pushing, I told them I can't do it, I can't do it.......they told me I had no choice I could do it . The baby was in a little distress throughout b/c he was so low and his head was getting crushed (not really crushed) but he didn't like it. I had to keep getting on my side to breathe with oxygen. They kept telling me he was OK but I saw them talking and knew I should really push and just get him OUT! Anyway, after a few good sets of pushes his head was out. When his first shoulder came out (before he was totally out) he started crying and it was music to our ears. Seeing him for the first time was more than I ever could have imagined! I'll never forget that feeling. They didn't put him on my chest b/c of the distress they took him over for the pediatrician to look at him. He scored 9 and 9 on his test (Asparg or whatever the name is) so that was good. He was brought right over to us and we became a family! My mom (who was there for the delivery) and DH were so great through the whole thing.
Sooooo, overall I really can't complain too much. I went in at 4:30pm and he was born at 7:54pm. Pretty good for a first baby I guess. I can't tell you how in love we are with our little boy. I feel like the luckiest person in the world. Not only do I know have a beautiful baby boy but I have fallen in love with DH all over again. To see him with our little boy brings me to shivers every time. He has been such a great help to me and I can see how much he loves our little boy. I truly feel blessed.

I wasn't able to read your entire birth story but it sounds like your delivery went well! I am going to re-read every detail when I get home!
Your little boy is just sooo very beautiful (and you look absolutely fantastic! I cannot believe you just gave birth, you are gorgeous!!!)

OMG!!!! So excited for you. Congratulations.That is such a wonderful story and you have to be the luckiest girl to have a birth like that. That is awesome. Congratulations on our beautiful baby boy- he is so gorgeous. Great pics! Enjoy your new family.
