Because if my parents are there, then his parents are there and then there are way too many people.

We are just planning just the 2 of us. Mom and dad close by outside the delivery room if we need them.

Nope, anyone else would tick me off because they would be freaking out.
DH and I know what to expect so there will be no panicking - we're both laid back and don't want any excess excitement or yelling we've seen coaches/family members do in the past...

I only want DH in with me. I think my mom wants to be there, but I'm afraid she would stress me out -- I want to keep it as simple as possible.

I don't think I would want anyone else in there. And so far (though there's plenty of time left) noone has mentioned wanting to be in there.

It will be just DH in there with me. I believe the birth is something special that DH and I should be the only ones to experience it.
I do know for a fact, that my parents and his parents will be right outside the door waiting though

i had csections so no one was allowed but dh. but even if i had gone vaginally, noone but dh would have been with me.

It was just DH with Sarah and will be the same this time. Neither my mom or MIL wanted to be in the room, and they respected our request to not come to the hospital until we called to say the baby was born. I knew I'd be concerned with them out in the waiting room for potentially a long time, and I wanted to focus on the birth.

Since I had a c-section only DH was allowed in but before they took me into the or, my parents, my inlaws and my sil were in my room. After, when I was in recovery, my mom came and sat with me and then my SIL came in to sit with me a bit to give DH a break. They all went home and came back a few hours later.

We haven't decided yet. My Mom was an OB nurse for 40 years. My sister had no choice because my Mom was on duty the day my niece was born. She said it was a real comfort having my Mom there as a nurse, not just a mother. So, we need to really think about it.

I had originally wanted to just be me and DH but with my dad's long illness and recent death I have decided I want my mom there too so she can be a part of something very special.

I had my DH and mom there and I was so happy she was. She was so supportive and an asset while I was in pain.
