back in Buffalo they have a bad kids home from way back i guess it used to be an orphanage it was called Father Bakers ..I would get told I would be sent there if i was bad
If I made a nasty face my face was going to get stuck like that and I would have to walk around like that forever
If I swallowed watremelon seeds a watermelon would grown in my belly

my grandmother would tell me that if I swallowed the seeds from the watermelon...that a watermelon would grow in my tummy.
my father convinved me that I would have a baby brother if I sat on my butt....and a baby sister if I stood on my head. I stood on my head every day during my mother's entire pregnancy with my sister.

I have a friend who is the youngest of 9 kids. Her mom used to tell them that when they lie, God makes a mark on their tongue. So when something got broken in the house, or someone did something wrong and wouldn't own up to it, she would line them all up and make them stick out their tongues. Of course all but one would proudly stick their tongue ALL the way out and the guilty party would just sort of poke it out. She always got them!

My mom told me she had magic powers and that is why she could tell that I snuck chocolate from the cabinet before my parents would wake up in the morning.
I believed her- now I know that she could smell it on my breath when I kissed her good morning!

My brother used to tell me that families were only allowed to have 2 children and since I was the 3rd child I was going to have to leave.
we said the same thing to my sister
and since she was tanner then us- we told her that when we went to Mexico - they weren't going to let her come back home with us

When I was bad my mother used to tell me she was going to call the childrens home. She even had the number in the telephone book. She would call and I would throw a fit. I pictured it like the dog pound with kids in cages and they would take me away in net. Funny, now when I look back on it but God was I scared. When I would calm down she would pretend to call back and say I promised to be good. Talk about emotional abuse.

I am the youngest of 6 and my brothers and sisters would tell me I was adopted, or dropped off at the door by the gypsies.
Mom said the thing about my face freezing when I made nasty faces too.
Mom said I would always be her baby...I hated that when I was 12 but I love it now!
SOme of these are hysterical!
