*update* yikes! my little bro needs surgery...
My 14 yr old brother was having some elbow pain for about a week, but nothing unusual 'cause he plays high school baseball.
Last Wednesday, he was throwing in from the outfield and felt a POP!
My parents took him to the E.R. and they did an xray and said there was no break, probably just a ligament or muscle strain.
On Thursday, his elbow swelled to double the size and he had a hard time moving it, so we made an appt w/ an orthopedist.
He just called me from the doctor's office - turns out that the e.r. at st catherine's MISSED a COMPLETELY BROKEN GROWTH PLATE from the xray!  can you believe that?!?
He's scheduling surgery for tomorrow or wednesday, but it shouldn't be so bad. Small incision, 2 screws, and then some physical therapy...that'll be fun, I work there! 
Please keep my Joey in your thoughts! He's 14 and a big shot, but he's still scared of surgery 
***update***
Well we were at the hospital for about 9 hours, and my boy came out of surgery a little groggy and with very high blood pressure ---- it lowered after a few hours of rest in his BEAUTIFUL private room (the hospital was so nice). We came home, he ate a choco taco and went right to sleep.
Thanks for everyone's well wishes - now lets get some HEALING for this guy so he can get back on the field!

I'm sure he will be fine too - but I saw a little tear on his face!!!
He's soooo into baseball, and he's a lefty pitcher w/ a strong bat.
Of course,this is his left arm. Poor kid!
