I never do this but I really really need your good thoughts today... UPDATE 10/7
Today is a day like no other. We've been having some rough health issues in both DH's and my families. So, today, all within one hour of each other...
my 84-year old grandmother is going in for a hysterectomy and rectum and bladder surgery. she has stage one uterine cancer and if the cancer has spread, they will just do the rectum and bladder surgery (both have dropped) and close her up, saying there's nothing they can do for her;
my sister-in-law (37 year old mother of three) will get the results of a biopsy taken also of her uterus last week. the doctors seemed hesitant to give a lot of hope that this will come back negative;
DH's 83-year old grandpa was diagnosed with invasive bladder cancer on Monday. today he is to undergo a procedure to remove a blockage from his urethra. while they are in there, they will also try to see if the cancer has spread to the kidneys.
We've had what seems like the longest week in all of eternity and it's all culminating in a few hours today. If you can, please keep these three people in your thoughts as the day goes on.

UPDATE: I've gotten a lot of FMs asking how things are so I figured I'd update this as well. Thank you guys sooooooo much for all of your good thoughts  They seem to have worked, at least some.
My sister-in-law's biopsy came back negative  They need to keep a watch and she has to follow up every 6 mos but for now, she's good to go.
My grandmother's surgery in itself went well. They were able to go in vaginally and do what they needed to do. But, the cancer was of a much higher grade than they originally believed. Ideally they would have been able to test the lymph nodes to see if it spread but the anesthesiologist didn't recommend her being under that much longer (would have been 1.5 hours more and she's 84 with a newly discovered heart condition). Anyway, the doctor will tell her today about the cancer and they'll have to live off of the biopsy results of the surrounding tissue to decide how to go forward.
DH's grandpa's procedure was postponed until today.
