don't get a booth get a long table - if you want to get up and mingle go use the bathroom and then head to the bar before going back to the table.

as long as you tip her well I doubt she will care. Everyone chip in and give her 1/2 the tip upfront and the rest when you leave.

thats kinda weird. id feel weird if when i was waitressing a table did that to me.
if anyone wants they can go hand her a 5 or 10 spot on the down low

Thats what I meant not 1/2 the tip on the bill just give her a little something right off and explain the situation. I don't think that would be weird.

I think at this aprticular GTg there are so many people who specifically want to meet/talk to so many other people, that we won't just stay in our quiet little conversations, too many people to talk to.

I'm torn on this one. I agree with those who said that it's difficult to talk to everyone at the table. I have had a lot of trouble with that at GTGs, and always regret that I didn't get to talk to certain people.
That said, the idea of standing at the bar ALL evening is not appealing, and I like to be able to sit and eat dinner...

On a friday night by the time you decide you may wind up waiting forever for a table. If anything meet at a table so you know you def. have one of the night.. you can always get up and go to the bar - JMO

Yeah, I can only stand at a bar for so long, and it is going to be PACKED fort he game. I wanna sit and eat something after that long drive...
if I just stand at the bar and drink you'll be peeling me off the floor. LOL

Plus once you get into a convo at the bar its not like you are going to walk away from the person you are talking to mid convo to go chat with someone else at the bar that is mid convo with someone else really
