Ya im not really sure what a hillbillie would sound like. I just assumed it was like a southern accent. Dont most people who live/come from the south have that?
Hillbilly is more like back woods alabama or blue ridge mountains kentucky.
eta- Which I guess is technically in the south but still, the term hillbilly is not condusive to most southerners.

I think people love to build celebs to knock them down...hence the obsession with her. Me personally? I never liked the girl. Not when she was a singer, not when she was chubbier, not when she got married and skinny. She never really seemed like a "dumb blonde" to me, if anything, she comes across as someone who tries to be what we want her to be and thus seems fake...again my opinion. Her hubby is someone I don't "feel" either.
But I LOVE Drew and his wife Leah...they seem a lot more "real".

I am going to agree with Sasha that I don't "feel" her.
She used to portray herself as an innocent teen who busted her butt to get where she was and she was quoted in saying that she "would never sell herself out to be like the rest of the pop stars" (or something along those lines, and that is exactly what she did. She began showing more skin, taking off more and more clothes, etc. At first, she made it seem as if marriage was the most important to her, then she SEEMED to forget that she was even married (this ties into her being very young, and most importantly, imature when she got married). So, she in my opinion did begin to portray herself as "loose" with the racey commercials and videos, that she said she would never sell out and do.
I think that is where Sasha is coming from, and I agree. I don't know Jessica Simpson's real attitude or feelings, but I think that she definately sold herself out once she started making some money
