repost from Parenting: I am so sick so I asked DH if he could do the feedings tonight and he said NO!!!!!
I am so hurt. I have strep throat and I feel awful. I also start my new job on Monday and I would like to get some rest. I asked DH (who never once woke up for Andrew) if he could do it tonight and he said no.
I am so upset right now

walk in. hand him the baby, hand him the bottle, and walk away. if he asks or says anything.... just say that you were just kidding when you acted like you cared whether or not he wanted to feed the baby, and that he WILL, in fact, be in charge of the feeding.
honestly, he's off his rocker if he thinks he can pick and choose when he wants to feed his child.

I couldn't agree with this more.
I would be so disappointed and hurt it wouldnt be funny. How dare your hubby not help the one time you asked because you were sick.

Well, I have been up since before 6 am with Andrew
I feel so bad for DS. He is definetly getting sick from me. He is so congested and won't stop crying. I still feel like garbage. And where is DH still sleeping in the other room. That's right, last night he slept in the other room
After I asked him he got up and without a word went to bed in the other room

Do you have a family member who can watch Andrew while you have a talk? I mean he is being so unfair to you I just can't see how he wouldn't feel bad especially since you are sick

I mean I would have said, tough....Im not getting up so either your son straves or you will help me, or I''d have packed a bag and Said Im going to my mothers/friends house to get some rest.
Hes not just your son, so why is it all on you?? I hope you are speaking up.

I would never put up with this. ALl I would say is well if the baby gets sick its on your head. Sometimes guilt works. I feel so bad for you though - its not fair. ANdrew is both of yours an he must help you too.

He certainly would have not SLEPT if this was my DH!!!!
I think you need to have a serious talk with him...this is your child, and you are BOTH responsible for him!!!! If you need a break for WHATEVER reason, it should not be a problem!

I'm am so sorry he's treating you like this. What is his problem? I mean seriously, he can't get up with the baby ONE night when you are sick? Wow... if that were my DH, I'd be making damn sure that if he didn't get up with the baby that night, he certainly wouldn't be getting any sleep either.
I hope you feel better soon and that your DH gets the wake up call he needs!

I would be banging some pots REALLY LOUDLY, vacuuming, making any annoying loud noises I can and when he gets up, I would say oh Great your up, here is YOUR son that you helped create. I am not feeling well I am going back to bed--- that's it and don't look back! Just go back to bed!

NO???????????? If my DH said NO, which he knows better especially in this situation, I would hand him the baby and a bag with what the baby needs and list of feeding time and I would either go to bed and lock the door or go to my moms and rest! He needs a nice rude awakening and nip it NOW b/c if you let him get away with this, sounds like you will be on your own with the baby in the future too. Good luck and feel better.
