staying on the beach past the sunning hours- until 6.. love that beach feeling
taking a walk on the boardwalk
coffee and paper on a Sunday morning
a text in the am from the person I am dating telling me they are thinking about me

Spending time with my nieces and nephews, snuggling with my doggies, when DH makes me lunch, finding cute written messages that DH leaves for me, good music, sunny days, discovering new places, eating good food, spending time outdoors in nature with DH, getting further along in my adoption process ....
lots of things make me happy -- i have a lot to be grateful for and should think of these things more often! great thread! very oprah-esque.

When my students remember things that I taught them
Seeing my dh get excited about something that we are planning to do.
Giving my cats kisses and hugs and hearing them purr.
When my hemotologist "dumped" me because my potassium and platelet levels have been in the range for over a year.

This might come as a shock after hearing all of my in law drama, but: Just the fact that I have peace in my life.
I had a very difficult childhood. As much as a PIA as my MIL is, she's a lightweight compared to the people I dealt with as I was growing up.
Just being able to come home from work, take off my shoes and read the mail in a serene setting makes me very thankful and happy.

random emails/FMs/myspace comments from people that you really like, but don't talk to enough....even though you'd like to.
finding that last year's jeans are looser than you remember them being when you packed them away.
teaching yourself something, start to finish. (this summer's goal is PHOTOSHOP!)
random phone calls when I'm working til 9, asking if I'd like some dinner brought up to me (I get these calls from both Rich AND my Daddy. I love my Dad.)
Random acts of love. I was hit by this about an hour ago....Rich and my sister ROCK!!!
Story: Last week, I saw a pebbled leather bag at the Gap, but it was $80, and I just can't spend money on myself right now. My sister offered to pick it up for me with her employee discount (30%), but it was still a lot. Wellllll it was marked down this week, so my sister called Rich....he gave her some money told her to buy it, and they surprised me with it tonight.  I love them.
OMG, can you tell I'm tipsy?!?!? I LOVE EVERYONE TONIGHT!!!!!!

- my dh waking me up with a kiss when he comes home late from work and i am sleeping
- a day at the beach with my mom
- speaking to my sister in spanish so that others don't understand
- a nice glass of wine
- coming home to our house
- going to church
- spending time with lifelong friends
