We just got back from Aruba tonight and we had some interesting converstations with a few of the locals who we have become friendly with over the last few years.
The people of Aruba think that she ran away to Venezula or Columbia. I think they are NUTS. I beleive that she is either a sex slave or swimming with the sharks. It is sad.
However, what did we see on vacation? Bunches of teenagers (American) hanging out and hooking up with out a care in the world. Alcohol was involved in many of the observations.
I too, was able to travel as a young teenager, but we always used the "Buddy system" because the fear of telling one of our parents that something happened to one of us was way worse then not getting to hook up with a guy!
That's so scary that girls are still acting like that!!
Why do they think she went to South America?

Sadly, I think someone killed her and did a good job at getting rid of the body.
I agree completely.
IF she was sold into slavery, I would think they would've killed her by now. For the amount they'd probably get for it, I would think it's not worth getting caught.

I dont know what to think.
after Jorans interview DH doesnt think he is involved. He thinks either the dummy did leave her on the beach and other locals may have done something- when we were in aruba for our HM we pulled up into the area where she was supposedly and there were locals hangin out drinking and it was scary that we left asap in the fear they may do something to us and NO ONE is around to help and it was sooooo dark I could not even see their faces.
but anyhow or he thinks that the brothers dropped Joran off and went back to get her and did something to her and thats why the brothers have been lying and going against Joran cause they knew they had eachother as an alibi and Joran was the last one supposedly with her alone at the beach.
I dont remember what they are lying about but the interviewer asked Joran why are they lying going against you and he said he did not know.

While in Aruba, I felt that they can make anyone disappear there and never to be found even though the island is small.
I have heard the stories about the sex slavery. Unfortunately once these girls are used for that..many of the times they are drugged so their thinking is not that clear.
I'm not so certain anymore that she can be alive because this case is well known and I find it might be too risky for them to keep her alive but who knows.
I saw the interview with this guy. After watching it, I'm not sure anymore. Like many others, I think of another scenario where he probably left her and some locals got a hold of her(maybe she passed out on the beach from the drinking) or one of the brothers came back or both of them. Or perhaps maybe all three are in this. I can't even imagine what her parents must be going through. Not knowing and not having closure is probably the worst.
I still do not know what to think. I think they should have an expert look at the videotape and see what the impression is for this guy. They can tell with body language if he's lying. I feel he knows more and he hasn't been completely honest and open.
Does anyone know if her parents have a website or a way to contact them. I think they should research in a field to find answers and I don't think they have done that. I've searched online but haven't found anything.
That definitely has to be a nightmare for a parent.....

I think she's dead too... Aruba is too small an island. And the one side of it, the water is very rough and if she was thrown in there, she would have been swept away quickly.
