nope i definately wont be seeing this movie
we had the preview sneak up on us in the theater and alot of the people had to walk out of the theater till the preview was over.there were about 40 of us standing in the hallway balling our eyes out. next time i went to the theater there was a huge warning sign outside about the preview. wish it was there before i went.

Re: I just saw the commercial for the World Trade Center movie

I burst into tears just watching the commercial for the first time too a few weeks ago. I had to get up and leave the room. I don't think I'll ever be able to see it. Seeing everything live was too much, I'll never forget.

No and honestly I think its inappropriate that it was made in the first place.

I agree. I understand if it was made in 20 or 30 years from now, like Pearl Harbor, or other movies like that. I never thought I would feel this way, but I just got such a horrible feeling watching the commercial.

Re: I just saw the commercial for the World Trade Center movie

i wont be seeing it at least not in the movies. i was a block away and was stuck in dowtown for hours that day but...... i thought( could be wrong) that the movie was made about the whole day obvioulsy but focused on the two men who did survive. Obvioulsy 3000 other peopoel died and i am sure the movie depicts that but arent the two main characters the ones who were one of the last two to be pulled out alive?

DH and were there; we don't need to see the movie. I think it's sad they're making this film.

Re: I just saw the commercial for the World Trade Center movie

Got to stick my $.02 in here so hope you don't mind.

FYI - lost my brother in law that day. He worked in tower one for Cantor Fitzgerald.

My opinion!
This was one of the most horrendous events to ever happen on this planet. The men and women that we depend upon to supply us with "entertainment" have taken it upon themselves to capitalize on this event! This is not "entertainment", is it? This is an attempt for producers etc to line their pockets at the expense of a tragedy that as you can see by the comments in this thread still has a deep emotional effect on us all. Dear Hollywood, scrap the movie, take your losses as you should have never ever produced this in the first place and replace it with a movie that a family can go see as "entertainment".

Opinion Over!

Re: I just saw the commercial for the World Trade Center movie

I refuse to see it- I don't like that they are making money off of this

I think it's gross- they should donate all of the profits to the families or not make it at all

it's too soon- maybe in 30 years to educate people who weren't alive

Exactly! I honestly don't believe that this movie will do well in the theaters. No one wants to relive that day. Having lived through that day, and live it again and again in my head, why would anyone want to go to the theater and relive it yet again? I certainly hope these people come to their senses and as Ron put it, SCRAP THE THING and take it out of the theaters!

I couldn't have said it better. I was sick to my stomach watching that widow and the clips from it on the news yesterday.

I cannot and will not go see the movie. I know that I won't be able to handle it and I don't want to put myself through that. But at the same time I respect anyone's decision to go see the movie.

NEVER......My DH worked in Tower II and still has nightmares. I lost a good friend (FDNY) and a cousin-in-law for Cantor Fitzgerlad. I have no desire to see this film. I lived it and still live it every day!

Donate the movie fee to the Survivors Fund instead!

Re: I just saw the commercial for the World Trade Center movie

No, absolutey not. Like many of you said I get all choked up just from watching the commerical. I think it is disgusting that this movie was made in the first place - it was only 5 years ago!! It is still fresh in our minds and this not a day I want to relive again. I was lucky enough not to have known anyone in the towers that day but it still effected me tremendously- I was depressed for many weeks afterward.
No thank you, I do not want to see that all over again.

Re: I just saw the commercial for the World Trade Center movie

DH and I will definately NOT be watching that movie. MY DH worked in Tower 2 of the WTC on the 69th floor. He BARELY made it out. (Literally, as he was running, the towers crashed behind him). He saw death and carnage all around him and really suffered post traumatic stress. I was 4 months pregnant with our first child and in my classroom teaching when a coworker came in my room and told me to call my DH immediately. He (of course) could not be reached, I found out what was happening, and had a breakdown. I did not get in touch with my DH for 4 hours. All believed him to be dead. Finally around 11:30, we were reunited. Just typing this right now, I am hysterical crying. I actually had to go to the obgyn that day to have a sono because I thought I lost the baby. (HE was fine thak God). My doc still says he'll never forget the day when we saw him and my DH was covered in soot head to toe and I was as pale as a ghost. Scariest day of my life!!!

Not me either.

See, I am not against them making a movie, per se, but I just think it is WAY too soon. I mean, they made the movie Pearl Harbor, but they made it like 60 years after the acutal event!!!! THAT I could live with!

I am hysterically crying just reading this - thank GOD your husband made it out.

I was also downtown that day, and I would never see this movie.
