Re: Re do the kitchen?

P

But would you be more likely to buy a place that has been updated or would you rather fix it up yourself?

fix it up myself

I can spot a cheap fix job a mile away- I would rather payless and do it my way

I plan on buying the biggest piece of crap on the best block- and I don't care if I have to go all the way to the sheetrock

but I know not everyone feels that way

we want to by waterfront and this is the only way we will be able to do it- and eat

where is the co-op? and in what price range are you going to be asking?

I think that makes a difference also

Re: Re do the kitchen? Added a few pics for opinions.

the pics finally worked for me- and you should totally leave that alone!

it's fine-save your money for your house

edited to add- it doesn't look "dated"- it's looks modern enough

I think the potenial buyer will appericate the new appliances

Thanks for your help. I know sometimes I can get carried away with all my "brilliant ideas". I Just want to make sure that the kitchen wouldn't turn off a potential buyer!

I redid the kitchen in my 1-bed co-op (as well as everything else) and managed to double my profits in 2.5 years when I sold last year.

with the market changing to a buyers market, i dont think now is the time to put lots of $$ in a property to double profits..

but if its a $3K fix, I would consider it.

I agree- personally I don't want to pay extra for your redone kitchen- but that's me

the market is crazy right now - there is a chance you might not get back the money you spend if you spend alot- esp on 1 bedroom co-op

But would you be more likely to buy a place that has been updated or would you rather fix it up yourself?

id rather fix it myself.

and now that I see the pics - its a cute kitchen. i dont think changing it is going to add much value in this market -

I think it looks fine. It's white and it's clean looking.

I agree - that kitchen looks move-in ready to me. On the other hand, it's small, so if you did Ikea cabinets or a brand that isn't too expensive - it may not cost you too much to do it.

I think that kitchen is very clean looking & not dated in a bad way. Because the cabinets are so plain its easy for someone to accessorize & make it their own. Its like a blank slate.
I think a co-op buyer would be pleased with the condition of that room.
