is ur SO going to ur work holiday party??
not sure what im doing..or if its worth dragging my bf, not even sure if i wanna go, but since im new at my job i feel like i hafta...even tho its on a random monday nite with work the next day

no, he is working. It is a Thursday night. I have another one the following night with my old company. I would like him to make an apperance there, they really loved him.

I would not bring him unless you know FOR SURE that plenty of other people are bringing their SOs.
Most corporate holiday parties I know of are usually for employees only. But different companies have different rules.

i think for mine they just have it during the work day- and people who have kids bring their kids in.

I'm going to DH's. It's expected. They have a cocktail hour where we have to mingle with their clients. Then for dinner we usually get seated with DH's boss and his wife and several of their clients and have to do the whole stupid small talk thing all night. Last year I was pretty pregnant and all the women insisted on telling me their delivery horror stories. I wish I didn't have to go. The only good thing is it's always at a really great restuarant. Last year was at the Four Seasons.

SO's are not invited to our holiday party .. but that is pretty standard in lawfirms

He'll be there for a little while, it is expected. I, on the other hand, have to stay there until every last person goes home, which is about 12-1am. It is a MADHOUSE, I tell you.

DH is invited to & will attend my holiday party (just like for the last 4 years!)
His company has one for just employees. Last year he went, this year he will not. He will be coming to a Holiday party with the womens club that I ride with! He will have a much better time anyhow with them!!

SOs are not invited to mine, but I have to go. I am going for a bit and then breaking out. Not in the modd to party with these people at all.
DHs I will go with him - its less "corporate" than mine so I usually have fun.

Yes. Although he is usually bored and is a stick in the mud. But we are taking sperate cars incase he wants to leave.

then we have the official office party where SO's are not invited

this is actually my first work holiday party...the other jobs ive had..i didnt ilke the pppl i worked w/so what was the use going ?
but this job (ive been here 9 months) i LOVE and SO's are invited so im taking him....

Our "holiday party" consists of leaving early and going to lunch at a restaurant with the 3 (small) offices we have. So no, no SOs. And it sounds like no one wants to go at all anyway, so why bring your SO to torture them too?
But, DH's office usually has a party that I go to. And I usually have a great time there! It's in someones house and just a relaxed thing which is nice.
