We're home!! w/ birth story and pics
Hello All!
After being 11 days overdue, my doctor induced me on 7/3/06 at 9:30am, I was 2cm. By 11:30am I was 7cm! I was feeling uncomfortable, but nothing too bad at this point BUT I figured it would get worse so I asked for a pain relief. I was all set on having an epidural but when I got to the hospital I really thought I could do it on my own and refused the epi. I did, however, take a shot of demerol ... which did nothing for the pain, but it did make me woozy and relax a little so I could concentrate on breathing instead of pain. I received that at 1130. At about 1pm, doctor said I was ready to start pushing so we walked to the delivery room (yes I could walk! the contractions were close but I was ok!) I pushed for about an hour and think I was really delusional from the pain ... I was saying things that didn't make sense but was still able to try to focus on the baby. The last few minutes before  was born the doctor kept saying "I see his head! He's right here!" So I was yelling "Pull him out!! Just grab him!" I was really in a lot of pain but at 2:03pm, Alexander William was born weighing 7lbs14oz, 19 inches long!!!
I was shocked at his weight b/c they were estimating him to be almost 10lbs!! SO it was a pleasant surprise!!!
We are home now and doing great! He is sleeping for 4 hrs at a clip, sometimes longer, and eating like a champ! He is very alert and is already holding his binky and flinging it around!
I can't even begin to express how in love I am w/ him! It's soo amazing!
I wish all the upcoming mommies a healthy delivery!
