I went through this for a while too! Then it was weird, and I totally had a change of heart. You will figure out what is best for you,

DH doesn't feel he's ready *right now* but thinks he'll be ready by October.  Hmmm, I'm just not gonna tell him since he said he'd love it if it just happened and he didn't have to plan it...he worries too much about my health and the babies and doesn't want to know.
So I won't tell him. But I'm officially starting!!

I might be joining you with this in a few months. Every time I think I'm "almost" there, I think "maybe in a few months, maybe in 6 months". DH is all about "let's talk about it next year".

Wow, I have/had these same feelings.
I look at babies and awww how cute and wonder how mine would look like, thinking of all cute little things for a baby, etc.
But then I think how once the baby is born - How will I know which cry is a hunger cry, change me cry, I'm tired cry -- things like that.
I know they are the "how to's" I'm worring about and that comes with experience, but I'm the type of person who likes to know how to do it beforehand. I will be the first one in my family to have a baby and my DH's side his sister had one almost 7 years ago (but his extended family has had them more recent, but not close enough for me to "practice on"- ya know

This is my first month being off BCP in 12 years! I feel like I'm jumping out of plane without a parachute.
We're waiting about 6 months before acturally TTC.

guilty of being a lurker on ttc and the pregnacncy board as well - i am finally oof the pill AFTER 15 yeears and DH and are planning to TTC in may - around our 2 year anniversary - but am learning so much on the bboards now

So I have the sample pre-natals... My Gyn told me to start taking them now so i get used to them even though we aren't TTC yet... and even though they are just vitamins and it doesn't mean anything official I feel nervous to start taking them!
Same here!!! My doc just gave me samples today and took blood for all my other docs......
We will TTC in a few weeks  nervous and very scared, DH especially....

Question - when I went for my annual check-up, I asked my MD to do bloodwork (in the event we decide to try before my next annual next summer), and she said she wouldn't do that b/c I'm healthy. W T F ? Is that normal for a MD to refuse to give you reg. bloodwork? I thought it was pretty standard pre-TTC. And honestly, how does she know I'm healthy?!

Yeah, they're cheap-o's and insurance is a b!tch now a days with approving tests. 
I would go for a full physical and demand blood work - my gyno didn't do bloodwork during my pap either.

This is a great thread! DH would welcome "a happy surprise" with open arms right now! We're waiting until Oct. to make our decision about TTC. We have to make sure that DH is still in remission and that the cancer hasn't returned. Oct. will be his 2 year mark, after which the chances of his cancer recurring significantly decrease. So if all goes well in Oct, I may just officially be in this board!

I feel the same way as you! I am so scared and I go back and forth about it all of the time. I think wow right now we can go out spontaneously and not have to think about getting a baby sitter and then...I see a cute little girl on the train reading with her mom and I think...

I'm definitely freaked out by all that too - we were just talking about it toinght. Dh asked if I was really ready for it all - the baby bug hit big time, but in reality I couldn't handle any of that right now, it freaks me out. In a year from now (or less though), I hope so. Plus you have 10 mo. to prepare for everything else. The 3 people I know who just had babies have really good babies (they sleep, eat well, etc.) so I think that's tricked me too - of course now my baby will be a terror:) (well, i hope not)

i'm definitely scared about my body changing, the MS, and the whole L&D itself, but lurking on the TTC & pregnancy boards have really eased my mind and fears. DH and I would like to TTC in mid-2007.

I have been lurking also!! I have been off the pill since May and letting things just happen! We plan to officially ttc in October! I don't want to get to stressed over this though! It will happen when it happens! I wish everyone the best!!
