If a place like lets say east wind gave you their door prize during the wedding showcase which were a free wedding but you must abide by all their rules, would you take it? Remember the whole thing is paid for by them.
Me personally, looking back I probably would. My wedding wasnt even as expensive as alot that Ive heard...i think it ended at 40k. Thats crazy! I had an awesome day but free vs 40k...thats a big difference. Plus you would still have a wedding and be with your families.

I don't know ... besides the fact that it wouldn't be me planning my wedding, which I looked forward too for a very long time ... they usually have caps on guests, like 100 guests - I had 250 guests, I could never have cut it down (nor wanted too!)

Don't you have to abide by their rules anyway?

I'm not sure I see a downside here. Chat Icon

Do you mean they cover the cost of the reception? If so I would, I had to abide by their rules anyway.

Or everything, so you have to use a specific florist, specifc photographer, etc? Definately not, I loved my photographer, and I didn't care for the house florist at my catering hall.

I mean everything...they would pick everything. Like an all inclusive affair.
I just couldnt see passing up a free wedding. its like 40k in your own pocket.
I also loved my wedding but you really would give up a totally free wedding?

Re: if u were offered a free wedding

When you say their florist, etc - do you have flower choice or they pick?

A free wedding sounds awesome - but if I couldn't pick literally anything - it doesn't sound much like my weddingChat Icon

I guess I would have to know everything upfront before I decided, like who would be the photographer, what the flowers would be...I would have to make sure I didn't hate anything!

Re: if u were offered a free wedding

Abso-freakin-lutely!

We kept to a very modest budget and only had 100 guests anyway, so I can't imagine that it would have been that much different than what we had.

I also didn't really enjoy wedding planning and I think I could have easily handed over most of it to someone else.

I had grad school during my wedding planning so i agree with the "hand it over" idea ; )

the only 2 things that mattered to me were the guest list (having everyone we wanted There), and the ceremony. If i had control over those aspects, then i would take it.

Re: if u were offered a free wedding

are these the same girls who on LIW racked up thousands of posts freaking out about table linens, the difference between the colors blush and bashful and whether to serve pasta or soup? Chat Icon Chat Icon My how all of our points of view have changed in such a short amount of time.
Part of me thinks it's a waste of good money that I could be using for something solid like bricks & mortar but on the other hand, I always wanted to have a wedding the way I dreamed of it and would never have been satisfied with someone else making my decisions.
