DH always says "what else?" if the conversation has come to a stand still.
I say "ya know" and "like" a lot.

I notice during certain conversations with DH and MIL, they say this quite often in the same order:
"uh uh" "Yeah" (3 second pause to think about what was just said and then followed by....) "uh huh" "Yeah"
It drives me nutz! They are so unaware of it. uh huh.....yeah ..........uh huh yeah.....it drives me nutz!

OMG!! I could have written that! That is the same exact conversation my FH has with his mom everyday. He never speaks. I swear, she does all the talking. I don't understand it at all.

I didnt mean their conversations with each other but their conversations with everyone else. Either my DH got it from his mother or MIL got it from DH.

It's REALLY annoying. I'm a low-talker so instead of saying "What?" or "Excuse me?", DH says "You're what hurts." It would be fine if it was just us, but others who have definitely not heard me think I'm physically falling apart.
