I think owning a gun can only lead to problems.

my DH would say the opposite.

his most favorite argument is that the first thing Hitler did was take away every German citizen's gun.

Re: POLL: (kind of serious, not in the TMI kind of way)

I dont own one but my FH does...He's a cop and actually has 2 of them but usually he keeps them at work. Technically he is required to bring them home and to carry it on him at all times though...

He actually taught me how to load the clip a few weeks ago and how to load the clip into the gun. He is going to take me to the driving range and teach me how to fire it soon too:) I asked him to because if this thing is gonna be in my home someday I want to know how to properly use it...Just in case.

I don't, but DH has a few. I never see them. he his licensed and they're totally legit.

ETA: they don't really bother me all that much since I grew up in Israel. my Dad had all kinds of guns including an Uzi.

None now, hopefull none ever. DH does want to get licensed and have one though. Chat Icon

I didn't know that about your upbringing...way cool! Chat Icon Chat Icon (The Israel part, not the Uzi part! Chat Icon )

My parents bought a shotgun over 25 years ago after a plumber stole their jewelry and then threatened them. He neded up in jail for killing his own grandparents or something like that.... very scary.

No gun, but DH collects swords, so I guess we do have another deadly weapon in the house.

Of course, I would have to get a ladder, climb up and unmount the swords from the wall to use them, so I don't know how effective they would be. Chat Icon

I don't own a gun and never will, but, I do have a billy club that a cop friend of ours gave us years ago. Plus, I have three dogs. I figure, if you are going to break into my home, you better be coming in with a gun, or you will be going out on a stretcher.Chat Icon Chat Icon

No gun, but I can say I did feel safe when I lived with my parents and my dad had one (law enforcement).

My husband is into Iseali self defense, so I hope he would be a pretty good weapon!!!

supposedly the bellts are harder to get then say, karate or the others. I think it takes longer to go from belt to belt....Dh is always trying to get me to go.....but I'm a sissy....I like my gym just fine, but I guess he wants me to be able to protect myself....
