Re: I could really use some hugs right now if anyone is around
Thank you all for the support. We are just having a bad time of it here right now. My daughter has been having MAJOR sleeping issues the last week or so. I am having some problems with my thyroid again and some other 'female' problems so that compounded with my DH (Dumb husband) have made for a very strained Mommy!
*** Just to give you the bone head idea of what my hubby is up too***
We went for a check up today (scheduled) she is 19.4 lbs and 28 3/4 inches at 8 months. She's doing well. He asks about her sleeping and we tell him. The doctor says you have to start putting her down when she is awake and let her CIO if necessary. We explained that we have tried that in the passed and she vomitted 2x. He said that's fine she has to learn.
We come home and I run out to the store because I only have an hour or so before my DH has to leave for work. He was going to give her breakfast. I come home breakfast is on the table and I hear them upstairs. I am wondering what's going on so I go up. He has her in her crib to go down for a nap. He said she won't eat breakfast so now she has to take a nap So he has decided she needs to CIO. I so ok if that's your decision you deal with it. I go in the basement to start the laundry and so I don't have to hear the screaming and so I don't start crying. I come out of the basement like 20 minutes later and she is wimpering. I go up and he is holding her. I said what are you doing you made the decision you have to be consistant and you can't pick her up. He says she was crying So he brings her back down to start breakfast again. She still doesn't want to eat so he brings her back up to her crib for a nap again. That's it now I am pis$ed. I said now you are making it a punishment that she didn't eat and he puts her in her crib to CIO again. He is here for about 20 more minutes and leaves for work. Now I am left to deal with a child that is hysterical and I have to make a decision to let her CIO or undo all the time that she has been in there. I decided to let her CIO and I call my Mom and cry on the phone as she can hear her crying too. It was awful. She finally passed out in the most god awful position. It just completely broke my heart today. There has been other stuff going on too but that was the icing on the cake today!
As some of you know DH hates when I post about my daughter but today- I say screw him and I need to vent and share.

Thank you all for understanding.
Jamie, sometimes we all need to vent and share. Don't ever feel like you have to justify your reasons. It's not an easy job to be a Mom and I know how it can break your heart to see your little one upset I hope things soon get better for you overall.

You do not have to do CIO. If it is something you are uncomfortable with than try other methods. There are other sleep issue books out there as well. Good Luck. Sorry you are having such a bad day.

I agree. I would try CIO. But if it's not for you and your baby then don't feel as if you have to do it. We do a little bit of a modified version. We read to her while holding her and she sometimes falls asleep that way. But if she doesn't then we put her in the crib. If she's awake then we'll stay with her until she's calm and almost asleep. Sometimes she falls asleep on her own. Other times she cries for about 5 minutes before falling asleep. We tried the CIO method and it was not for us. But just from trying it she has learned how to fall asleep on her own a little and when she wakes up during the night she is able to put herself back to sleep many times.
