Another belly sleeping question
My DD is 8 weeks old and we allow her to nap on her belly during the day because she is supervised. She also sleeps on her belly if we bring her in the bed with us. Obviously as posted before, she too sleeps so much better this way. Do you ladies think it is too soon to put her on her belly at night? My pediatrician does not promote this and says to wait until she can roll over on her own. She can pick up her head and turn side to side. What do you think? I really think she would sleep longer at night.

Re: Another belly sleeping question
Ava was belly sleeping way before 8 weeks. She was also able to lift her head and turn it side to side, so I felt better about it.

Re: Another belly sleeping question
Marron was sleeping on her belly at 6 weeks because she could lift and turn her head.

Re: Another belly sleeping question
dd is the same way. i am very nervous cause she likes to have her face against something. i just invested in the angel care monitor. it makes me feel a little at ease but still nervous.

So I have experimented the last two nights and DD has slept for 5 hrs straight vs 3.5-4 on her back. Do I continue??

Re: Another belly sleeping question
YOu should talk to your ped if you are nervous. Mine told me in the hosptial that if he slept better on his belly it's fine.

Re: Another belly sleeping question
My ped says he does not promote it. Like my mom says...we were put to sleep on our bellys and we turned out just fine. I am nervous but she is doing well this way. Always naps on her belly too.

Re: Another belly sleeping question
My kids slept on their bellies from the moment I discovered they were belly sleepers. Just make sure you have a super firm mattress. As comfortable as I am with belly sleeping, I'm not sure about the co-sleeping/belly sleeping combo. We did co-sleep but I was paranoid about the sheets & covers. If it's in her crib, I would do it.
