Speaking of LI Homes

I recently registered with Prudential/Yahoo, so they can send me emails of available homes in the areas/price ranges we are looking for.

Well, I just got an e-mail with this beaut!!!

Why would someone post a pic of that?

Unbelievable.

Oh my God...why did they bother taking a picture of this house? Anyone would be buying the property, the home needs to be knocked down and carted off.

Definitely the worst I've seen yet.

What description did the realtor use? I would love to see someone try and dress up this wreck. I would guess "this home needs a little TLC" or "handyman's special" came up.

Yeah, that's it. Well...on the bright side, we could be neighbors! ha ha! It needs a lot of work...that picture makes it look good. I can't believe I recognized it!

That would be the only brightside.
In the realtor's defense they do label it as a "burn out".
Thankfully, it's on the low end of our price range, so hopefully the listings will get better.

I just looked on MLS. 320,000 for this--I don't know what homes go for in Hauppauge, but it seems a bit high.

There is no realtor description, but I noticed under condition, it says burnout.

Actually, I paid more for my townhouse in Hauppauge, so it's not high for the town, but probably high for a house that's been burnt. Your average home in that area is high 4s, low 5s. Average.

Re: Speaking of LI Homes

I've seen "as is" homes listed in "poor" condition that were higher than our price range. Then I looked at the lot size and neighborhood - that alone could fetch a few hundred thousand dollars.

I laugh too at some of the pictures of houses that they want a lot of money for. Makes you wonder wth these people are thinking.

Is it true if you buy a home that is totalled by fire, you have to pay in full?

I'm not registered with MLSLI, but I'm on all of the time. I only registered with yahoo, because that's the only you can look at the pictures of the homes and see the other details like taxes, heating/water systems etc.
