Re: Going to doctor today *updated*
I wouldn't worry Charly, I totally think the murmurs are PG related and not indicative of any other issues
Take it easy and feel better!!!

Re: Going to doctor today *updated*
Try not to worry - murmurs are really common in pregnancy! Did he/she say it was systolic or diastolic murmur?
The holter monitor is no biggie minus the not showering in the warm weather - I had to get it a couple of years ago and they kept giving me a broken one so I ended up not showering for like 3 days
I hope everything is ok!

Thanks everyone!
No he didn't say what kind of mumur. He did assure me that it was normal. He noticed that when I'm relaxed my heart tends to slow down too much which is why I feel the "skip" or thump. He used words like PVC and Mitrovalve (sp?) - heart disease runs on my dad's side of the family so he's just covering his bases. I'm really not overly concerned at this point. Just feel like between this and pregnancy you are always waiting for some kind of test results!!!

Mitral Valve Prolapse? I have this and it is rather common. Most times they don't even have to treat it, but they will keep an eye on it to make sure that the condition does not change. Many times it will improve on its own. Sounds like you have a great Doctor to take care of you!

seems I'm experiencing some irregular heart beat (mine not the baby). I've been feeling as thumping sensation in my chest (like my heart is skipping a beat or something). I'm a little scared.
UPDATED:
I'm back. It seems I've developed a murmur and he did hear the irregularity I was speaking about. He thinks it could be caused by the pregnancy (heart needs to work harder.)
He took some blood, did an EKG and now I have to go back next week to have a mobile heart monitor hooked up to me for 20 hours (no showering ) and an echocardiogram. So for now I have no news. I guess within the next few weeks we'll know more.
Thanks for all your support.
I was going to say that it might be a murmur..my dr. said that it is very common in pregnancy. I had a murmur prior to becoming pg so I hope that it doesnt get worse

UPDATED 6/6/06 My echocardiogram revealed I have an "above" average case of mitral valve prolapse (sp?). He said it's something that should be watched, but nothing to be overly concerned about since my heart looks strong and healthy (another great trait I got from my Dad lol) They still want me to wear the monitor for 20 hours to make sure there's nothing funky is going on in there...that's tomorrows project!
Thanks for all your support.
Rest assured MVP is very common. It is great that you and your Dr know you have it just to keep any eye on it. It is not serious but could be if you didn't know you had it. The only thing I know you have to do is you have to take antibiotics before having dental work done.
Good luck and glad to hear that your appt went ok !

I have MVP too. You'll have to take meds before goign to the dentist or having any surgery. Some times over the counter medicines aggrivate the symptoms. But atleast you know whats causing it now.
