My friend did it and found it extremely hard but that is because you can not have meat the first part of it. She was hungry. I thought I remembered you were a vegetarian though maybe?

I am! I was just watching tonight and I like the idea of detox. It'll be hard to not have any protein for 9 days though. I usually am never interested in diets like that, because they are hard to follow being a veggie.
How did your friend do in weight loss?

This sounds like the diet my brothers doctor put him on. He's doing great on it and has lost a ton of weight. After a few days though he had to have some protein so he did a few egg whites and occassional grilled chicken on his salad.

Re: Fat Smash Diet by Dr. Ian?? (Celebrity Fit Club)
I just bought the book yesterday! I am officially starting tomorrow - but since I have about 20 pounds of fruits and veggies in my apartment right now, I guess I started at 3pm today.
The first 9 days are basically only fruits, veggies, water, herbal tea (2 cups a day), oatmeal and legumes. I think it's gonna be a rough 9 days!

I bought the book today at Borders. I am going to start tomorrow. Maybe we can share info with each other and also motivate each other.

I just bought it at B&N today!! But I can't figure out when to start because I've got a few things going on where it will be EXTREMELY difficult to follow
And DH was like "well, then it's not important enough to you"

Re: Fat Smash Diet by Dr. Ian?? (Celebrity Fit Club)
Okay, I think I'm taking the plunge today. It will mess up my weekend plans but it'll get me to Phase II in time for a friends wedding so at least I will be able to eat more stuff (but no alcohol ).
Meal #1 of oatmeal - here I come!
#2 - yogurt

Re: Fat Smash Diet by Dr. Ian?? (Celebrity Fit Club)
I completely forgot that you can have brown rice - WOO HOO!!!!!!! I'm going to stop by the chinese place and get some.
I didnt really like my oatmeal for breakfast - I'm used to sugary oatmeal with apples and cinnamon - this steel cut whole grain oatmeal is pretty crappy.
for lunch I had egg whites and a bowl of fruit.
For dinner I'm thinking I'll have roasted veggies, a salad and either lentils or brown rice - I'm craving carbs!

Re: Fat Smash Diet by Dr. Ian?? (Celebrity Fit Club)
I was going to make black bean soup for dinner & tomorrow but I came home and I'm outta beans!!!! And now I don't have time before the gym.
I'm screwed!! And will be starving! ACK! I should have been better prepared in the house before starting.
ETA: and as with Atkins, I'm screwed on a quick & easy because I don't eat eggs.

#1 - oatmeal, banana, brewed green tea (do you think that is okay? does it count as "herbal"?)
I really need to get to the supermarket TODAY!
It should be fine but I drink herbal tea because the book stated that.

I was thinking the same but of course as I may have mentioned ( ) I am completely unprepared!! And I have regular tea, decaf & green tea bags here at work (of course, herbals at home ) so going with the green. I assume the herbal is mostly about being NO CAFFEINE.
Thanks!

Re: Fat Smash Diet by Dr. Ian?? (Celebrity Fit Club)
Breakfast: One orange, bowl of berries and a cup of tea.
snack: carrots with a tiny bit of hummus (I figure since chickpeas are the main ingredient - I can have a little)
lunch will be a large salad with low fat dressing
snack - mango
dinner - steamed veggies with brown rice
and if I'm still hungry after dinner - frozen red grapes.

If anyone likes carrot soup, I just made it from the recipe in the book and it was easy, smells great and a quick taste tells me it's just as good as when I make it with cream!!
YUM!!! I have lunch for tomorrow!!
