Well I got married at 23 and I do think my wedding was a fairytale wedding. So Im not sure I agree with the "marrying to young" thing I think what they are referring to is that she was immature, inexperienced and spoiled... at 23. Young-minded... not necessarily young in age. At least, I agree in that sense.
i see what your saying but can anyone really say that? Does anyone really know her or them for that matter to make such a judgement/s?

After watching her for 3 years, yes I think we can. Unless she was acting for those three years, but I think we have all seen her act and she ain't that good. Of course there is a lot of speculation too...

Re: Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey
No, it's not about age per se - just maturity. She seemed just seem mentally young and naive, even.
Of course none of us really know them to judge them, it's just fun to speculate.

Well... they did open up their lives to the public for 3 years. Of course no one really knows them to make correct judgments (editing and all), but they open themselves up to judgment by having a reality show- that made them both very famous and very rich BTW. Its one of the consequences of having a reality TV show about your marriage.

Re: Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey
No need to get offended ... we weren't saying anything about her age (number) specifically. Just her maturity level - at least I was. I was actually very careful not to specify that she was too "young" in age -- just maturity level which could be the case at any age 18, 28, or 38, IMO.

true but we all know by now what we see on TV is never really true life.... At least i hope everyone knows that
but it amazes me how sad people are about the marriage falling apart yet bash her and him for who and how they may or may not be...

But they put out an image- whether its them in reality or not. The editors (since day 1 and the show was on for 3 years) always showed him as a down to earth guy (moving himself in) and her as a ditz (tuna, spending $1000 on lingerie and not realizing it, etc...) If they had such problems with the images that were being portrayed, they could have not done a 2nd or 3rd season.
The goal of TV, especially celebreality, is to make you feel like you KNOW these characters. Hello- you are one of the biggest Lost fans and you truly care about, at least one, of the characters True, you know him entirely because he is fiction. In celebreality, they let the audience think they *KNOW* the starts. In reality of course we don't, but people get attached to them, just like you do to fictional TV characters.

Jess, I wasn't talking about you and I don't know how you seem to think that I am offending you. I am talking (speculating, whatever) about Jessica Simpson ... I was judging what I see and have seen her do. We've already established that age meant maturity ... not age in the sense of the number. She was too young to get married - she wasn't mature and she definitely had no idea what real life is about - the girl didn't even know how to do a load laundry. Again, what I said really has nothing to do with you or your life.

either way .......i would never think that by what i see on a celebreality show is ANYTHING close to reality....
IMO that is a given.,..

Re: Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey
And i watched that show.........
The show really showed no real issues in their marriage that would cause anyone to really know what or why their marriage fell apart.
But i guess maybe the pics in the mags did...i don't read them...

Re: Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey
I am going by how they acted on the show..I would assume alot of what they showed is true since her father had alot to say regarding the editing. I saw an interview with her father and he said that what we saw on Newlyweds was Jessica and people will either love her or hate her. All I can say is that I saw Nick on the Howard Stern show about 2 years ago and Howard called it. He asked Nick how many more years of marriage before the divorce....

IMO that you need to know a little more than a portayed "image"
